The Germany car brand has officially launched the BMW i8 Roadster supercar and i8 Coupe 2019 version at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2017 with significant improvements both in design and power and features history.

Two versions of the BMW i8 2019 are considered as super-product bearing the mission to restore the class of the BMW electric car.

In terms of safety technology, BMW equips the new i8 2019 the anti-theft alarm system, ABS brakes, head protection system and remote control service BMW Remote Services (active driving assistance with panorama camera, speed limit, front collision warning, limited collision in city and pedestrian protection), tire pressure monitoring or cruise control.

The 3-cylinder gasoline engine, 1.5-liter petrol engine comes with a TwinPower Turbo boost system for up to 231hp and 320 Nm of maximum torque.

Both i8 Roadster and i8 Coupe are equipped with the eDrive system has been refined with 11.6 kWh battery clusters instead of the 7.1 kWh battery of the old version. When power is pushed up to the highest level, they can reach a capacity of 143 horsepower and a top speed of 105 km/h.

The improved engine also helped the car to accelerate from 0-96km/h in just 4.2 seconds in the Coupe version, and 4.4 seconds in the Roadster version. Owning a 4-wheel drive system with the maximum speed of up to 249km/h, BMW i8 2019 users can confidently conquer all terrain with this super.

BMW i8 2019 Coupe: The appeal from the improved design

Aside from the upgraded engine system, as in previous versions, the BMW i8 Coupe 2019 conquers the user from the first glance because of its sporty design.

As I first saw BMW i8 car online, I had so many conflicting thoughts from that moment. While I truly fell in love with BMW i8 and went actually wow, I remained a bit puzzled and surprised.

Many of the BMW i8’s exterior changes can satisfy any aerodynamic purpose while other design factors are just the groups of fancy. Look at its rear grille, it’s made up of the 3D-printed fins while the headlights are totally different than any supercar. They come with a little horizontal LED strip that can act as the real headlight and a daytime running light.

Now the monster BMW i8 is only available in just one color scheme: blue with the titanium liquid silver. It gleams brightly and beautifully in the sun that easily catches the eyes of any beholder. Also, right below the BMW i8 logo, you can see a four-square organ pipe exhausts, and then out to the sides, there’s our favorite element: The tail-light designs.

Weight 

The use of much lighter materials, including the wheels with some body panels succeeds in contributing more to the supercar 77-pound lighter curb weight.

Without a doubt, the BMW i8 version is truly a mean machine! But since the manufacturer made the car with bent corners instead of blowing through the straight-line runs, it doesn’t mean that it’s slow.
The additional aerodynamics can contribute to 198 pounds of the downforce, which can raise up to 1005 pounds.

This innovation is perfectly reasonable because the back seat of the i8 Coupe is quite small, only suitable for children sitting or storing personal items.

All of the useful features of the previous i8 have been retained with this model, such as laser lights, pedestrian sound warning, and the ability to fully charge the battery within 3 hours with the IWallbox system. With its strong power and fast acceleration, the BMW i8 Roadster 2019 can be viewed as a single breakthrough of BMW with the hybrid line.
